Dear Natalie,
If you could hear my heart today,
You would know how empty I feel.
My life is suddenly turned upside down,
and everything's surreal.
I visit you in my thoughts and prayers,
but that is not enough,
I wish I had you by my side,
I'm trying to be tough.
Sadness always dwells in me,
Days are never good.
I hope you know I still love you,
and we did all we could.
Your life was truly precious,
We all miss your glamour and cheer,
Know that you will never be forgotten,
I know your spirit still lingers here.
I feel that deep inside my heart
there is a piece of you instilled,
to guide me through each day and night,
and keep me comfort filled.
I hope you know I'm still your sister
with an angel up above,
who is my strength and guiding light,
and a forever source of love.
I always must remember,
that you are always here,
You're in my thoughts and in my heart -
Your spirit's always near.
You are my stars that shine brightly
from above,
which sends me hope and guidance,
and most important love.
You are the warmth that shines down on me
Form the rays of the bright summer sun,
always gazing down on me saying
"My life's not truly done".
You are the reason for my smile,
that brings my day some cheer,
when of think of all those good times,
we've shared throughout the years.
You are the tears that trickle,
softly down my cheek,
that help me get through real hard times,
when I am really weak.
You are the sounds I hear,
In the quiet autumn night,
reminding me your not far away,
and everything's alright.
You are the wind that blows,
softly past my side,
telling me things will be okay,
You never really died.
You are that tiny voice
whispering softly in my ear,
"I will never let you down,
I am always here".
Still, of all the days I've lived,
and all the times I have cried,
nothing has been harder,
than living through that day you died.
I just have to keep my focus,
on your softly spoken words:
"Do not mourn, do not cry,
I am not gone, I did not die".
_____
This
poem is dedicated to my sister Natalie. She died on June 25,
2003 at the age of 23. I miss her very much, and I wrote this
poem from my heart. Her life was lived to the fullest, and she
will never be forgotten. I hope that others will be able to
relate and find some comfort in this poem.
This
is one of the best, most well put together poems that I have
read. It made me fall to tears because when you lose someone
young, this is how you feel.
*
Splendid!
I feel your pain.
*
The
words were so close to my heart. I recently lost my Mum and
the poem was just how I feel. It made a few tears fall.
*
Outstanding! This made me
cry.
*
This
was very beautiful and touching... it brought tears to my eyes.
I am so sorry for your loss. May God bless you and give you
comfort.

This
poem was extremely touching, and it reminded me that others
I have lost are still with me.
*
This
is a sweet poem.
*
This
poem I could relate to, and I found it to be very helpful. I
just lost a sister, and I understand the pain she is going through.
But the one thing we must remember is that they are always with
us, they will never leave our hearts.
*
This
poem was very well written, and you can tell it came from the
heart. I found it very comforting to read.
