I Am So Blessed

I am so blessed, this I know.
I have a car with which I go.
But what about the ones who couldn't -
even walk or could, but shouldn't.

I am so blessed, this I seize.
I play the trumpet well with ease.
But what about the ones who can't -
even talk or even chant.

I am so blessed, this I ensue.
I have no immediate, major issues.
But what about the ones who try -
to survive or live to thrive.

I am so blessed, this I know.
My body parts all work and flow.
But what about the ones who can't -
don't have a leg, a foot, a hand.

I am so blessed, this I tell.
I have a voice to shout or yell.
But what about the ones who can't -
say a word, or they'll get canned.

I am so blessed, this I proclaim.
My mind functions; I'm not insane.
But what about the ones who just blink -
they cannot move, or unable to think.

I am so blessed, this I share.
I have unique, brown, curly hair.
But what about the ones who don't -
it fell out, or grow back it won't.

I am so blessed, this I shout loud.
I have great grades, of which I'm proud.
But what about the ones who can't -
think or reason, understand.

I am so blessed, this I celebrate.
I am able and willing to date.
But what about the ones who couldn't -
meet with the opposite sex, or shouldn't.

I am so blessed, this I know.
I am so happy, this I do show.
But what about the ones who try -
to just be happy, and not to cry.

I am so blessed, this I do say.
I have great friends, and to God I pray.
But what about the ones who don't -
they are confused and/or all alone.
